Dubai, The City Of Gold

Dubai, the city of Gold. The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Dubai is Burj Khalifa of course, but also the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, Desert Safari and shopping at the Dubai Mall.

Dubai is a destination that has forever been on my bucket-list, and whenever I see my facebook timeline filled with people off on Dubai tours, I am just burning with envy. Or when a friend or relative comes back from Dubai and boasts of their shopping extravaganzas or deals on gold jewelry or smartphones (while they have got just chocolates for me), I pacify myself by saying, all in good time.

The place has so much to offer! It’s the ideal place for for partying, vacationing with family or even an all-girls trip, it is no wonder that Dubai tourism is flourishing.

What if I told you that if you could pretend to take a vacation and post a picture, you could actually win a real won? Thomas Cook is giving wanderlust people like me, to fake a vacation in order to win the real one! Follow them on social media, create a fakecation (Fake a vacation, like I have here) and post in using the hashtag #NoMoreFakecation. It’s as simple as that!

Selfie at the observation deck situated on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building, also showcased in many movies like Mission Impossible for example is a must do, even if it means challenging your vertigo.

Dubai is also famous for artificial sky-diving as well as the real sky-diving activities, cage snorkeling and so on. My brother who went on a solo-trip few years ago came back with wonderful memories of them!

Can you imagine a destination which has both desert and beach? That’s Dubai for you!

If you’re more of the person who likes to see traditions and learn about a place’s history, Dubai Creek was built centuries ago and has a lot of heritage to it. You can even buy some spices while you’re there.

Everyone at some point of time must definitely have put up a picture of the palm islands – man-made to resemble a palm tree, as a wallpaper on their PC, smartphone or laptop. The place is so gorgeous; I await the time I get to skydive from the palm drop!

Thinking of all the attractions, I find myself virtually there already, I must have visited it in my imagination and dreams so many times. Abu Dhabi is another place I want to visit, but Dubai is first on the list.

Dubai tours have so much to offer – sightseeing, nightlife, shopping and more. Whether you plan a quick weekend trip or a week long one, there is so much to do and so much to go back to, because there is always something new to see there.

I already know so much about Dubai, thanks to friends and acquaintances who have lived or frequently visited the place, that all that’s really left now is actually going, or maybe have Dubai Tourism board invite me!

All the jugaad that you’re so good at doing can finally be put to some good use, get creative, fake a vacation and win a real one! I have my fingers crossed, I hope I don’t have to fake a vacation and get to go on a real one soon. Don't forget to share your entry, click here to know more
